No Privacy

In our government class we are going over the 27 Amendments. I believe these Amendments give us freedom in the US. The top four more reasoning Amendments for me are the first, fourth, eighth, and the fifteenth Amendments. The first Amendments says that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” This gives us 5 freedoms, which are speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition. I’m Catholic and I love practicing my religion and I have friends who were created with different beliefs and practice and different religion and they like it. If the First Amendment didn’t exist we wouldn’t be able to practice any religion and I believe that’s not fair at all. Also the way we can express ourselves is protected by the first amendment. We can have protest about anything and nothing will happen to us where in other countries people go to jail for having a protest. The fourth amendment is “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” With this amendment I feel free because I have my own privacy and I know that if a cop doesn’t have any reason to come inside my house and search it with out an official search warrant they cant search anything. This amendment gives me my right of privacy. The US wouldn’t be the same if someone had the right to go in your house and search it for no reason. The eight amendments says, “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.” This is great we don’t a small crime to put someone close to death or have him or her suffering. Lets say someone poor gets a warrant for an arrest because they have many parking tickets unpaid. I believe they should be punish but not in a cruel way or with unnecessary punishment. Other countries whip their people until they bleed a lot or leave them in a cell with no food, light or air. That is wrong so I’m glad the eight amendments is here and still standing strong. The fifteenth amendment says “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude– The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.” This lets every citizen vote no matter the color race or religion. If you were born in the U.S and you’re eighteen and ready to vote you can vote no matter your color, race or religion. This gives me the right to vote even though I’m colored skin and I come from a Mexican family. It lets the U.S get different opinions so it can create a better place and make it fair for every citizen. There are many problems that I see in our society but one of the tops is people and animals getting killed for no reason by cops but if I were to create the 28 amendment it would be related to technology. I believe we all deserve our privacy just how the fourth amendment states it. With technology the government can see where we are, what are we doing, and whom we talk to, and even what we talk about. I’ve heard they can even read our messages. That is creepy and I would create something that gives us the right for our privacy in our phones, computers and all our electronic devices.
